Out in the field!

Byam and S got some training in this morning, before the heat of the day bumped up the humidity.

There was a bit of rain last night, so Byam was wet from head to tail. Amazingly she was not covered in mud, so her bath was a little easier than normal.  Her ears were covered with burrs, so she got a small haircut to avoid pulling her fur.  Now she is asleep on my legs, I just love that!

Again - No Dogs Allowed on the Beach

Byam is considered a pet, not to us as she is a member of the family.  But rules are rules, even for Brittany Spaniels.  We did find another spot on Don Willams Lake, where dogs have entered for a  wade or swim for years.  This weekend we also learned the difference between chipmunks and ground squirrels.  Byam tried to sneak up on any number of ground squirrels with good luck on the ground squirrels' side.

Byam and Sarah - New Friends

Byam has a new friend, Sarah.  She kept Byam busy, happy and wet at the Decorah Iowa campground.  Amazingly Sarah was able to walk with Byam on her leash - without Byam pulling!  What an amazing girl!

Wilson's Creek Battlefield

Near Springfield is a very important battlefield of the Civil War.

Wilson's Creek - the first major Civil War battle west of the Mississippi.

And this national park allows horse riding and dogs on trails.

Byam was glad to get out with us.

Suggestion - watch for ticks.
