Summer of 2012 - Dog on Beach!

This trip to Michigan has been fantastic!
Byam has been loving her time on the beaches of Lake Superior.
She may be getting a little tired of having her photo taken.

Amazing.

And almost cut down in 1971.

 Incredible Architecture - Cheap Real Estate

 We talked to a local and heard from his real estate lady.

 

 Lots of historic buildings are for sale, and have been for some time.

 

Friendly people town.  Under appreciated.

Blue, warm, secluded.  Peaceful, perfect. 

Michigan is good for Brittany Spaniels.

 

Summer of 2012 - Fort Wilkins - Dogs are Welcome!

We love love love dog friendly places!  We were able to walk around the historic grounds with Byam, trading places to take care to keep her respectfully outside the buildings.

Summber of 2012 - Lake Superior - Again no dogs on Beach

 

 Byam is a member of our family.  She is a dog. Dogs are technically pets, but she sure does not act like a mere pet.  No pets on the beach.  Again.

 

Just down the way, off the beach, we had much more fun in the water!

We had a beautiful site on Lake Superior at Memorial Park.

And Byam was the first to relax - finally feels like a vacation!

 Lake Superior - and Dogs ARE Welcome!
Look at the sand fly!  Byam had the best time digging in the sand, and spent a bit of time in the very clear water of Lake Superior.

Summer of 2012 Banning State Park

Looking forward to our first long walk on vacation!

Banning State Park allows dogs on the trails which is awesome.

We wandered up and down the trails throughout the park which is part of a previous stone quarry.  It was quiet - we met only 4 other people and 1 dog on our walk.  Really cool temperature inside the quarry area - so nice for August!

Byam wanted to go swimming, but the water was moving too fast.

Even a small waterfall in the park - great place!
